Reading the spiral
Centred on a major pivot and starting from the pivot before it, the spiral arches forward in time over a low, or under a high, growing by 1.618 at each quarter turn (dots mark ×1.618, ×2.618, ×4.236…). Because it is drawn on Mitotic Scaling, a quarter turn is a true right angle in the chart’s geometry.
Where the spiral crosses today’s bar is labelled with its price — a curved support or resistance. A ◆ with a date marks where it comes back to the centre’s price level, a time target.
Using the golden spiral
- 1Open Overlays → Vortex → Golden Spiral and choose how many turns to draw.
- 2Click the centre — a major high or low — then the point the spiral should start from, or press ⚡ to use the last two confirmed swings; ◀ steps back a swing.
Questions
How is it different from the Vortex tools?
The Vortex tools are chains of Fibonacci arcs. The golden spiral is the smooth logarithmic curve of the golden ratio itself.
Why does the spiral depend on the scale?
A spiral mixes price and time, so it needs to know how much price equals one bar. Geometriya uses the chart’s Mitotic Scaling, the same scale its angles use.
